Brief description of process

"lsass.exe" is a process (full name Local Security Authority Service) in Microsoft Windows, which is responsible for security policy in the operating system. It verifies authentication of users log on to Windows-based computer or server, handles password changes, and create access tokens. It also writes to the Windows Security Log. It is often attacked by viruses, Trojan horses or worms. This malicious software often tries to disguise themselves as this process.
